Short bio: Ljiljana Trajkovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree from University of Pristina, Yugoslavia, in 1974, the M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, in 1979 and 1981, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of California at Los Angeles, in 1986.

She is currently a Professor in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. From 1995 to 1997, she was a National Science Foundation (NSF) Visiting Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Department, University of California, Berkeley. She was a Research Scientist at Bell Communications Research, Morristown, NJ, from 1990 to 1997, and a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ, from 1988 to 1990. Her research interests include communication networks, computer-aided circuit analysis and design, and nonlinear circuits and dynamical systems.

Dr. Trajkovic served as IEEE Division X Delegate/Director (2019–2020) and IEEE Division X Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect (2018). She served as Senior Past President (2018–2019), Junior Past President (2016–2017), President (2014–2015), President-Elect (2013), Vice President Publications (2012–2013, 2010–2011), Vice President Long-Range Planning and Finance (2008–2009), and a Member at Large of the Board of Governors (2004–2006) of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. She served as 2007 President of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and a member of its Board of Governors (2004–2005, 2001–2003). She served as Chair of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society joint Chapter of the Vancouver/Victoria Sections (2001–2021). She was Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Circuits and Systems (1998). She was General Co-Chair of SMC 2020 and General Co-Chair of SMC 2020, SMC 2019, and SMC 2018 Workshops on BMI Systems, SMC 2016, and HPSR 2014, Special Sessions Co-Chair of SMC 2017, Technical Program Chair of SMC 2017 and SMC 2016 Workshops on BMI Systems, Technical Program Co-Chair of ISCAS 2005, and Technical Program Chair and Vice General Co-Chair of ISCAS 2004. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems (2021–2023) and served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems (Part I) (2004–2005, 1993–1995), the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems (Part II) (2018, 2002–2003, 1999–2001), and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Magazine (2001–2003). She is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (2020–2021) and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (2020–2021, 2010–2011, 2002–2003). She is a Professional Member of IEEE-HKN and a Life Fellow of the IEEE.

 

 


Prof. Robert Minasian, The University of Sydney, Australia

Short bio: Robert A. Minasian received the B.E. degree from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia, the M.Sc. degree from University College London, U.K., and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne.

He is a Chair Professor with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney, Australia. He is also the Founding Director of the Fibre-optics and Photonics Laboratory.

His research has made key contributions to microwave photonics and photonic signal processing. He is recognized as an author of one of the top 1% most highly cited papers in his field worldwide. Professor Minasian has contributed over 400 research publications, including Invited Papers in the IEEE Transactions and OSA (now Optica) Journals. He has 84 Plenary, Keynote and Invited Talks at international conferences. He is an Advisory Editor of Optical Fiber Technology.

He has served on numerous program, technical and steering committees of international conferences. He has also served on the Australian Research Council and on the Research Evaluation Committee for the Excellence in Research for Australia initiative.

Professor Minasian was the recipient of the ATERB Medal for Outstanding Investigator in Telecommunications awarded by the Australian Telecommunications and Electronics Research Board. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (now Optica), and a Fellow of The Royal Society of NSW.
 

 

 

Prof. Zhu Han, University of Houston, USA

Short bio: Zhu Han received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, in 1997, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. From 2000 to 2002, he was an R&D Engineer of JDSU, Germantown, Maryland. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Research Associate at the University of Maryland. From 2006 to 2008, he was an assistant professor in Boise State University, Idaho. Currently, he is a John and Rebecca Moores Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as well as Computer Science Department at University of Houston, Texas. His research interests include security, wireless resource allocation and management, wireless communication and networking, game theory, and wireless multimedia. Dr. Han is an NSF CAREER award recipient 2010. Dr. Han has several IEEE conference best paper awards, and winner of 2011 IEEE Fred W. Ellersick Prize, 2015 EURASIP Best Paper Award for the Journal on Advances in Signal Processing and 2016 IEEE Leonard G. Abraham Prize in the field of Communication Systems (Best Paper Award for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas on Communications). Dr. Han has been IEEE fellow since 2014, AAAS fellow since 2020 and IEEE Distinguished Lecturer from 2015 to 2018. Dr. Han is winner of 2021 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award, and has been 1% highly cited researcher according to Web of Science since 2017.
